Ask three friends this question:

“On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being ‘unreliable loser’ and 10 being ‘phenomenally rock solid’, how reliable would you say I am?

It takes some daring to ask this question of others, but if you want to track your integrity, sometimes you just have to keep score.

For one day, or a week if you can, keep track of all the things you say to people that you’re going to do for them. Transactional, promises, on-going commitments, big new intentions, wooing. Pay attention to what comes out of your mouth, “I’ll send you that link, I’ll be there at five, I’ll call you and let you know, I’ll talk to you soon.”

Do you do what you say you’re going to do? Precisely? Loosely? Thereabouts?
