January Bucket List

I find that once, maybe twice a year, I write a bucket list. And then I stack it underneath bills, appointment reminders, receipts and don’t remember it until I clean off the unruly stack on my desk.

But if you want to see a change you have to make it, so I am purposing a change for myself.

Monthly bucket lists. This way it stays relatively on top of the pile of papers on my desk. Since the urgency of getting the items on my list done is greater (because a month is only 28 to 31 days long) I am hoping these monthly lists will keep me on track, and my goals more attainable. Otherwise I would tell myself, “next month” or “I have all year to get this done.”

A few items from January’s list:

  • Catch up with five friends. This refers to my friends outside of my day-to-day circle I see. Most likely means sitting down to type out a long email of updates, or schedule a time to Skype.
  • Finish my book (I am currently reading The Racketeer)
  • Try a new restaurant
  • Learn to make a cocktail recipe to impress people with (Inspired by the new cocktail shaker I received for Christmas)
  • Learn about taxes (Am I the only one who is clueless on this matter?)
